Florence: Guided Duomo & Brunelleschi Dome Climb

Before you book
- The meeting point depends on the option you book, and the listing gives no address; ticket and security checks come before the tour. Guides speak English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Russian. Walks in Town is on the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore's published 2026 list of authorised partners.
- The guide covers the Baptistery, the Duomo Museum and the Cathedral's exterior; there is no guided visit inside the Cathedral or the crypt. The dome climb comes last, on your own, and adds about an hour: 463 steps with no lift. The 3-day pass then covers the Cathedral interior, the Santa Reparata crypt and Giotto's bell tower (414 steps), but the bell tower and crypt are included only for visits up to 31 December 2026. Tips are extra.
- The dome slot is mandatory and named, ID is checked at the climb, and the Opera does not change a slot once issued, so bring a passport or ID card. Not suitable for pregnant women, people with claustrophobia, vertigo or a fear of heights, or wheelchair users; the Opera also discourages the climb for people with heart conditions. Backpacks and large bags are not allowed.
- The dome closes from 16 to 20 November 2026, the bell tower from 9 to 13 November, and the Duomo Museum on the first Tuesday of each month; the Baptistery's vault mosaics are hidden by restoration. The Cathedral is free to visit Monday to Saturday, 10:15 am to 3:45 pm, with shoulders and knees covered there and in the Baptistery. Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund”.
